Step Out and Be Bold

The years have been many,
and the task very great.
The accomplishments, a reward,
that God did create.

Your knowledge and talent,
have come only from Him.
He’s walked alongside you,
and caused you to win.

He has destined this day,
so long, long ago.
In the overall plan,
that only He does know.

Where it will take you,
is not at all clear.
But with Him in control,
you can walk without fear.

Put your hands in His,
step out and be bold.
Do all for God’s glory,
and you’ll attain your goal.

He’ll never leave or forsake you,
eternally in His care.
To God be the glory,
for always being there.

Much richness and blessing,
may He bestow upon you.
Wherever He leads,
and all that you do.

To My Grandchildren

To my grandchildren in honor of Grandparents Day, which is celebrated on September 13.

Grandchildren, may you always be,
blessed by the Father above.
Cradled in His Arms,
and sheltered in His Love.

Every child ever born,
is created in God’s design.
Only the Creator of everything,
can call each child, “Mine.”

He calls the little ones, “Precious,”
because He has a plan for them.
And He brings it all to pass,
time and time again.

When You know the beginning and the end,
all things are in Your control.
God is the very Anchor,
on which we need to hold.

He’s the only One that will never fail,
with Hands and Arms stretched wide.
He’ll never leave or forsake us,
He’s always with us, beside our side.

It matters not, young or old,
love and peace conquer fear.
So look to Jesus, for who He Is,
and always seek to keep Him near.

Laying on of Hands

The same Spirit that lived in Jesus,
it’s the same Spirit that lives in us.
His Power is still working today,
as powerful as Pentecost day.

Tongues, and their interpretation,
are a worshiped celebration.
Gifts for use in ministry,
like wisdom, faith, miracles, prophecy.

The Holy Spirit is the Power outlet,
also for knowledge and a discerning Spirit.
Not every gift is the same for everyone,
yet they accomplish what God wants done.

But still one gift is yet to come,
and it differs from every other one.
It’s used everywhere in all the lands,
this gift is the laying on of hands.

The laying on of hands brings healing,
a word of prophecy it will bring.
But even by the use of hands,
it’s still the Spirit that administers the command.

The hands are not always a part,
sometimes just a matter of the heart.
The centurion had faith ……in Israel, not found.
And his servant was healed, homeward bound.

Healing also flowed from the robe He wore,
blood issues ceased, as never before.
Blind eyes were opened when the mud was applied,
no more in bondage, because Satan lied.

Even the paralyzed came down through the roof,
his friends needed no other proof.
Even Lazarus was cold from the grave,
freed from the boundaries of a cold, dark, cave.

Some were touched by the Masters hand,
as He was sought after throughout the land.
Others a word is all it would take,
such as come…….as He walked on the lake.

So come to the Lord and receive a touch,
Jesus is able to do so much.
Your life can be changed forevermore,
as Jesus renews your very core.

A Name

Why is a Name so full of mercy & grace,
used by so many for shame and disgrace?

A Name that is higher than all other names,
a Name that man uses and constantly blames.

A Name uplifted on the wings of a dove,
a Name so misspoken, without any love.

A Name that can change and set us all free,
a Name that suffered on Calvary’s tree.

A Name proclaimed in Scripture verse,
a Name used in worldly curse.

A Name that provides for the broken,
a Name that restores when it is spoken.

A Name that is stronger than the foundations of Earth,
a Name of regeneration, new life, & rebirth.

The Creator

I am the Creator who guided you to birth,
Master and King of all the Earth.
I’m the one Who holds you in His care,
I’m the one Who promises to always be there.

I hear you every time you call,
and even lift you when you fall.
I carry you through times of stress,
in loving arms that caress.

I’m the Bread of Life on which you feed,
I’m the everlasting provider of your everlasting need.
I know how to care for my loving bride,
I’m the Tower of Strength in which you hide.

I’m the River of Life that quenches your thirst,
I’m the One in your life that should be first.
I’m the one that guides along life’s way,
I’m the Breath of Life that you breathe each day.

My Word is stronger, it is right and true,
it’s hope and life and deliverance too.
It is old and new- it never changed,
it is solid and lasting on all that it has claimed.

I’m the Deliverer and Restorer of all your soul,
I’m the one who makes your life whole.
I’m the Peace that surpasses all understanding,
I’m the Anchor that holds when life is demanding.

I’m the God that set you free,
I’m the God that healeth thee.
I’m the one that paid the fee,
I’m the one from Calvary’s tree.

So live in me dear Lord and be,
the power I need to carry me.
On that day that you Return, I’ll see,
I’ll praise and worship for Eternity.

Who is Jesus?

Who is this Jesus,
what can He do for me?
Sit and stay for a while,
let me explain Him to thee.

He was a man,
but an extraordinary one,
and above & beyond,
He was God’s own Son.

He had a desire,
for man to be free.
I thank Him daily,
for both you & me.

His yolk is easy,
and His burden light.
In every battle,
He’ll win the fight.

He stands here with His arms outstretched,
and prods us with His Spirit.
He promises that, when we ask,
He’ll be there to hear it.

He’s given us the Holy Scripture,
to point and lead the way.
Accept the Lord into your heart,
for this is the only way.

Stand upon the promises,
of all that God can do.
When this fleeting life is over,
remember Jesus took you through.

When you stand before the Father,
and know your job is done.
You’ll think back to the day,
you accepted Jesus, God’s beloved Son.

Tools of the Trade

My boss is a Jewish carpenter,
the ultimate Master of all of His tools.
He wants us all to be His students,
doers of His Word, and be not fools.

Sandpaper, foundation, wood, & joust,
a hammer, saw, plane, & a screw.
T-square, plumb line, level, & drill,
tool belt holding- tape measure & glue.

All are needed believe it or not,
when Jesus becomes your focus in life.
He teaches and prepares us with all we need,
to face the world and all of its strife.

Sandpaper is first to be applied,
to a heart that is rough and scarred with sin.
Sanding with the blood of Jesus Christ,
that’s smooth and cleanses your heart within.

After the sanding, we need to begin
a firm foundation of prayer & talk.
The foundation’s our grounding in the Word,
knowledge of the Truth to strengthen our walk.

After the foundation is laid & set,
the Word is framed & raised up high.
Building a shelter in time of storm,
with walls that reach to Heaven’s sky.

The wood is strong, but can’t stand alone,
it needs the joust to anchor the frame.
Just as we can’t stand alone,
the Holy Spirit supports Glory to Jesus’ Name.

Holding the joust firm to the wood,
the nails are hammered deep & true.
Reminding us of the gracious Cross,
where our Savior bled for me & you.

The saw then trims those extra pieces,
that causes us to stumble & fall.
The plane then tune the jagged edges,
which blocks us from serving our Master’s call.

Before the frame is put in order,
distance is measured, it’s leveled & set.
Just as the Spirit gives us balance,
and reminds us that He’s not finished yet.

T-square makes sure that the joints are perfect,
so everything fits right into place.
It’s by the Fruits of the Holy Spirit,
each day we are able to show forth His grace.

So take the plumb line & have it fall,
and guide your life along it’s track.
But if you stumble & fall off course,
our Loving Savior will help you back.

Pick up your tool belt and all of your tools,
take some steps back and have a look.
See your work & all you’ve done,
and thank the Lord that you followed the Book.

So look to the Day (and it won’t be long,)
when the Master calls all carpenters yonder.
On that day we’ll get our Master’s degree,
and through His City eternally wander.
