It’s Not About Me

Born into this world,
of turmoil & strife.
Not knowing,
wrong from right.

Learning by example,
of all that I see.
What really matters,
just seems to be me.

All I’ve been taught,
in school and out.
Point to one thing,
I am what it is about.

So now I’m ready,
to go out on my quest.
To fulfill my desires,
make my life the best.

Whatever it takes,
I’m ready to do.
My concern about me,
not about you.

As I begin the climb,
the ladder is steep.
If I miss a rung,
the floor will be deep.

The higher I climb,
the tougher it gets.
The pressure is greater,
and so are the depths.

Forge on I must,
for I’ve made a pledge.
But everything is pulling me,
over the edge.

I am ever so close,
I can see the top.
Stop pushing and shoving,
everybody stop!

It is empty and bare,
there is nothing here.
Lonely and dark,
with deathly fear.

Give me a moment,
to reflect and look back.
To see if by chance,
I am on the wrong track.

When I first started,
I asked the way.
Only two choices,
I remember the day.

Track one read,
“It’s all about me.”
Track two read,
“It’s not about me.”

I’ve made a mistake,
got on the wrong train.
Thought I knew it all,
the world to gain.

I’m often alone,
now the end is near.
Nowhere to turn,
to remove the fear.

I hear someone calling,
“Last call for track two!”
I’m here, I’m here,
but what must I do?

Surrender your life,
accept Jesus the Son.
And board the train,
be on the right one.

Choose early and right,
make Jesus your Lord.
Then you’ll be ready,
“Last call, all aboard!”

Life Can Be

We can’t always live,
each and every dream.
Life can’t always be,
simple and peachy keen.

Some of life’s situations,
can seem very mean.
And at the final outcome,
you just want to scream!

When the plans boil over,
you need to let off steam.
Then you recompose yourself,
and start off new and clean.

But I have a simple way,
you might be looking for.
All it takes to have it,
is open your heart’s door.

It’s really very simple,
it boils down to a choice.
Let your heart speak,
open your mouth and use your voice.

Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,
and accept His grace for all your sin.
Your life will never be the same,
your frown is now a grin.

I will not say that all is perfect,
but it will be better than it’s been.
With Jesus living in your life,
defeat will now be a win.

So turn your life to Jesus Christ,
accept His love and favor.
And with Him always by your side,
joy and peace you’ll always savor.

The Eyes

The eyes that see us as we are,
are eyes that see us from above.
Those eyes that look upon us,
are radiant with unlimited love.

The eyes are the windows to the soul,
which is the core of our very being.
The eyes that speak without a word,
and convey what people are seeing.

The eyes say more about us,
than our minds can comprehend.
They speak the feelings deep within,
that you don’t even tell a friend.

The eyes can’t hide,
what you feel in your heart.
It is quickly reflected,
in the eyes, part by part.

The eyes always produce the light,
that illuminates our body and soul.
And when that light is Jesus Christ,
the light shines bright and bold.

Jesus works from the inside out,
when He changes the heart of man.
He makes a man a brand new creature,
as only our Lord and Savior can.

Then our eyes show forth the love,
that Jesus has placed inside.
The love we use to be more like Him,
the One in Whom we abide.

Darkness diminished,
glorious light.
Eternal Son-shine,
no more Night.

The Reason for the Season

Sometimes thoughts seem a long way off,
and they don’t really make any sense.
My mind seems cluttered with daily life,
my body and thoughts, tired and tense.

My mind is raveled in a giant knot,
which loose end to pull, I don’t know.
Chances are, it can’t get worse,
I have to do something to unlock the flow.

But then, maybe the words were spoken,
beyond my listening ear.
And I was too tired,
to turn my head to hear.

But out of the heart, the mouth speaks,
it is not an audible voice.
Words are implanted by the Holy Spirit,
and are used only by His choice.

They are given for wisdom and inspiration,
as God speaks to us.
He also speaks through the written Word,
and that makes life a plus.

So even when life seems down,
and doesn’t seem to fit.
Receive a Christmas present,
God’s Son, the Perfect Gift.

He’ll lift you by a Mighty Hand,
out of the miry clay.
And set your feet on higher ground,
firmly planted to stay.

So accept the Gift that God offers,
and make this a joyous season.
And after all, we need to remember,
Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Remember Jesus Christ,
the Solid Rock you stand.
All other ground,
is sinking sand.

I Am the Father’s

I Am the Father’s,
I belong to Him.
Bought and paid,
filled to the brim.

All that He has,
I can claim for me.
Because of my Savior,
who hung on a tree.

He loved me so much,
that He gave me His All.
Filled me with His Spirit,
to help me when I fall.

I am part of a Covenant,
fulfilled by His Word.
He’ll never fail me,
that’s all that we’ve heard.

What we need is provided,
pray, ask, and receive.
It is only a matter,
of what you believe.

About Me

Sometimes people don’t understand,
what I’m all about.
They just don’t take the time,
to try and figure it out.

I have a very loving heart,
and forgiveness is always free.
I just don’t hold a grudge,
that’s the finer side of Me.

The key to knowing Me,
is found in the Book.
Just open It up,
and take a look.

I give love and joy,
that gives you strength.
And I never fail,
to go the length.

I give peace,
that surpasses understanding.
I give goodness,
that is never ending.

I Am faithful,
from beginning to end.
I Am closer to you,
than your best friend.

I Am gracious in,
the glory of My goodness.
I Am ever merciful,
in my spirit of gentleness.

Concerning the Lord’s promise,
He is long suffering towards us.
In His promise to the meek,
they shall inherit the Earth, plus.

My patience will never run out,
it is forever long and lasting.
Let patience have her perfect work,
it is sufficient for all time’s passing.

So come and get to know Me,
I will never let you down.
I’ll fill your life with laughter,
and take away the frowns.

I Will Follow

My God is sufficient,
for all of my needs.
And I will follow,
wherever He leads.

He holds me securely,
in the palm of His Hand.
And I have no worry,
His footprints are in the sand.

In times of storm,
He shelters me.
In the cleft of the rock,
we have security.

He is powerful,
strong in His might.
His yoke is easy,
His burden is light.

We have no doubt,
He is always there.
And in His timing,
He answers our prayer.

God is gracious,
in His love for you and me.
After all that He’s done,
giving His life on Cavalry.

God gives us grace,
from Satan’s attack.
March on in the battle,
He has our back.

God also gives us His Spirit,
His fruits help us abide.
And all of God’s resources,
stand ready at our side.

So look to the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit,
the blessed Trinity.
If you surrender your heart,
you’ll have eternity.
