God Is…

Who is God,
so faithful and true?
Willing to die,
for me and you.

Who is God,
that He dies for me?
Paid with His blood,
and set me free.

Who is God,
that He can love me so?
And walk with me,
wherever I go.

Who is God,
that gives me peace,
that’s always available?
It will never cease.

Who is God,
that gives sight to the blind?
Cleanses our hearts,
and renews our mind.

Who is God,
when my heart so cold,
that shows me mercy,
and saves my soul.

Who is God,
when I’ve reached the end?
Remind me often,
that He’s my friend.

Who is God,
when I’m down and out?
Reminds me by faith,
to have no doubt.

Who is God,
when I’m feeling lonely?
He reminds me in love,
I’m His one and only.

Who is God,
through all of life?
Waits for His bride,
and lovely wife.

God is Alpha and Omega.
Beginning and End.
He’s my Savior,
and Best Friend.

Counselor, Mighty God,
Prince of Peace.
His love for me,
will never cease.

He is Abba, Almighty Ancient of Days.
He fills me with love and power,
He carries my burden and every care.
He lights my darkest hour.

Emanuel, Excellent, Everlasting God.
He makes me what I ought to be.
I can do all things,
through Christ who strengthens me.

He is my Rock, Fortress, and Sanctuary,
my Shelter in a time of storm.
When I’m lost and in the cold,
His embrace keeps me warm.

Passover Lamb, Lion of Judah,
So Meek, yet so Strong.
By knowing Jesus,
is where I belong.

He is the Shepherd guarding the sheep,
and all the sheep hear his voice.
The time is now, He’s calling you.
Listen to your heart and make the choice.

What more could I say?
He’s all and all to me.
Without Him in my life,
I truly cease to be.

Merry Christmas!

As the world prepares, for this joyous season,
I really wonder, if they know the reason.
It saddens my heart, for I really doubt,
if they’ve taken the time to think it out.

I cannot express how much it means,
as I think upon the manger scene.
My life’s laid in the bed of hay,
I’m part of Him, day to day.

As I look at the infant, I see a King.
In springtime freshness, as the angels sing.
The heavenly hosts lift up their voice,
with loud ‘Hosanna’s!’ let us rejoice.

He started a life with prayer and fasting,
a life for us to be everlasting.
From the day in the Temple with the Jewish leader,
to the day on the shore where He called Peter.

The years passed quietly, until about thirty,
when John calls out, “He is worthy!”
The blessing is sent from the Father of love,
to rest upon Jesus in the form of a Dove.

His ministry begins; the time is at hand,
as Jesus travels throughout the land.
It’s time for man to see Salvation’s plan,
it’s time to renew the heart of man.

As we stroll along the beach,
we stop to hear the Master preach.
His words of wisdom: they bless our soul,
they’re pure and more precious than refined gold.

Many are helped by His healing touch.
None are too holy, they all mean so much.
The future has been prepared for man to face,
united with Jesus and under His grace.

His years were short, just thirty-three,
the most rewarding years in all of history.
He gave it all for humanity,
that was the purpose of Calvary.

Saint Nick and Rudolph have their part,
for those who haven’t taken Jesus to heart.
The world is still looking in search of the Way,
I hope and pray that someone finds it today.

Now that you know the beautiful story,
of a loving Savior who came down from glory,
and placed in our hearts His eternal light.
May the blessing of this joyous season be yours tonight.

Ed

In memory of Eddie Romano, my dear friend, who passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013.

Every Sunday morning, we were on the course.
It’s a miracle we didn’t get a divorce.

We left them with the kids and all,
just to chase that little ball.

It was more than just a game,
the winner could boast his fame.

Truth is- we weren’t very good.
Still, we tried as best we could.

We always planned to come back quick,
but time flew by in just a flick.

Everything we did was competition.
Cards, Super Bowl, Billiards, in addition.

We played our trivia, fearing the Brown.
Because Pat always knew, and beat us down.

During our game, we’d walk with Jen.
The women did, but not the men.

Eddie always looked for an edge,
and we’d drive it home as a wedge.

He had his games that he could win,
and I had mine to better him.

But it was always done in sport and fun.
And still friends when we were done.

Forty-five years, and we were like brothers,
even though we had different mothers.

We got busier, and the years got away,
now we only met on New Year’s Day.

There are so many memories yet to tell,
but most remain in my heart’s well.

Our times together will not be forgotten,
even though life has turned rotten.

You were a brother, more than a friend.
every day, and every way, until the end.

I’ll miss you, my friend, but I’ll never forget,
the times we had, I’m so glad we met.

That Crimson Stain

Listen, my child and have no fear,
You are anchored in My very Son.
All the battles you’ll ever face,
the victories paid and won.

With my Son, you can do all things,
you have His spirit, power, and might.
The day you claimed Him as your Lord,
All your darkness was changed to light.

All His promises are faithful and true,
He stands on every word He’s spoken.
He has no faults and cannot lie,
not a single promise will be broken.

My child, when you chose Jesus,
you also became My son.
Filled by the spirit in wisdom and truth,
shining brightly as the sun.

The precious blood of Calvary,
has made me white as snow.
That crimson stain is washed away,
and through Christ’s spirit I grow.

The Holy Spirit fills me with power,
and guides my heart in all I do.
He strengthens me in my weakest hour,
and what He does for me, He’ll do for you.

God’s not a respecter of persons,
everyone is judged the same.
When we give our life to Him,
we now live forgiven in Jesus’ name.
