I Need A Do-Over!

What do you do with a do-over?
What do you change about your life?
Do you change it all and start over?
Or only the times of worry & strife?

How great it may seem to restart life,
knowing all that you know today.
Do you really think you’d be better off,
if life was to be this way?

The decisions we make throughout life,
are times that help us grow.
Doesn’t matter whether right or wrong,
because life is designed to be just so.

Sometimes the decision is very important,
it truly shapes & defines our future.
Other times, the deciding factor,
is living in our national culture.

But through it all there is a way,
to have help as we decide.
That way is found is Jesus,
in whom we need to abide.

He’s the only one we can trust,
when we need to make a change.
To clean up a life that’s gone all wrong,
take that life and rearrange.

As we put our faith and trust,
in Father, Son, & Holy Ghost.
We’ll see the change life can bring,
and live life honoring the Heavenly Host.

So put your life into His hands,
only He can give a do-over.
Over and over and over again,
as many times as a field of clover.

Throne Room

Enter the throne room of His mercy & grace,
receive his cleansing, and your sins He’ll erase.
So stand in His presence and receive your reproof,
begin to worship in Spirit & truth.

He says to pray, one for another,
lift up the burdens of a sister or brother.
Become a prayer warrior and intercede,
for prayer is the lifeline on which we feed.

I pray and I ask as His face I seek,
it’s time to listen, and for Him to speak.
First Thessalonians 5:17,
“Pray without ceasing,” a beautiful theme.

May the Father Who looks from above,
replenish our hearts in Christ-like love.
Pour out Your Spirit & power and might,
as we enter Your throne room tonight.

Laying on of Hands

The same Spirit that lived in Jesus,
it’s the same Spirit that lives in us.
His Power is still working today,
as powerful as Pentecost day.

Tongues, and their interpretation,
are a worshiped celebration.
Gifts for use in ministry,
like wisdom, faith, miracles, prophecy.

The Holy Spirit is the Power outlet,
also for knowledge and a discerning Spirit.
Not every gift is the same for everyone,
yet they accomplish what God wants done.

But still one gift is yet to come,
and it differs from every other one.
It’s used everywhere in all the lands,
this gift is the laying on of hands.

The laying on of hands brings healing,
a word of prophecy it will bring.
But even by the use of hands,
it’s still the Spirit that administers the command.

The hands are not always a part,
sometimes just a matter of the heart.
The centurion had faith ……in Israel, not found.
And his servant was healed, homeward bound.

Healing also flowed from the robe He wore,
blood issues ceased, as never before.
Blind eyes were opened when the mud was applied,
no more in bondage, because Satan lied.

Even the paralyzed came down through the roof,
his friends needed no other proof.
Even Lazarus was cold from the grave,
freed from the boundaries of a cold, dark, cave.

Some were touched by the Masters hand,
as He was sought after throughout the land.
Others a word is all it would take,
such as come…….as He walked on the lake.

So come to the Lord and receive a touch,
Jesus is able to do so much.
Your life can be changed forevermore,
as Jesus renews your very core.

Another Year Older

A birthday should be full of cheer,
that gets you through from year to year.
But it seems as we get older,
the summer gets hotter, the winter gets colder.

That might just be a sign of aging,
our bodies not used to rearranging.
But birthdays are a blessing in disguise,
to the Christian who is Christ-wise.

So sit down now and enjoy this day,
it’ll be a year before another comes your way.

Grace

The unmerited favor of God,
is the meaning of His grace.
It’s powerful and it’s free,
and your sins it will erase.

What does grace really spell?
God reigns & controls everything.
On the day we’re finally home,
we’ll praise & worship & sing.

Our sins that were forgiven,
are buried, deep within a lake.
Never to be raised again,
for God’s Word, He’ll never break.

Eyes are the windows to the soul,
through love, God’s soul is grace.
We are called to live for him,
and run the faithful race.

The favor of God’s grace,
is ours to behold.
It will take us to glory,
our home and streets of gold.

So do not be afraid to ask,
and receive what God will do.
His promises are “Yeh!” & “Amen!”
Forever faithful and forever true.

He’s Always There

Keep a smile on your face even if you’re sad,
it will prevent the day from being all bad.
It will also prevent you when days at an end,
from being upset when you’re with a friend.

It will make the evening a more pleasurable time,
as you sit down to candlelit dinner & wine.
And afterwards, you’re filled with fun & delight,
as we pass away the rest of the night.

When you’re down in the dumps and feeling blue,
remember Jesus & I are there with you.
To help and encourage and brighten your day,
through love and prayer and the Son’s light ray.

So be of good cheer for the future is bright,
we have the Holy Spirit & Jesus, eternal life.
Rested assurance from Heaven above,
we are forever cradled in His precious love.

As we approach the edge of night,
fill your heart with pure delight.
For He’s seen you through the day,
kept you safe from all harm’s way.

So as we view night’s darkest hour,
we’ll still rest in His almighty power.
As we view the morning sun,
we’ll again remember the victories won.

Welcome to the World, Ella!

This poem is dedicated to my new granddaughter, Ella Vivian Goodman!

Welcome to this world,
there’s no turning back.
I know it was safe and cozy,
but now you join the grandchildren pack.

We prayed for you from when we heard,
and we will continue, now that you’re here.
You are a blessing & a surprise,
and a high point for this year.

The name Ella Vivian Goodman,
has such a pretty flow.
It will be a name remembered,
wherever you will go.

I know you’ll be a computer whiz,
by the time you reach age one.
Mommy & Jared will make sure,
that all is said and done.

Maybe your big brother,
can get you on TV.
He has some pull with people,
he’s kind of a celebrity.

May you always find God’s blessing,
in everything & everywhere.
May you always be protected,
and nurtured in His care.

Welcome to the world, Ella!
