To My Grandchildren

To my grandchildren in honor of Grandparents Day, which is celebrated on September 13.

Grandchildren, may you always be,
blessed by the Father above.
Cradled in His Arms,
and sheltered in His Love.

Every child ever born,
is created in God’s design.
Only the Creator of everything,
can call each child, “Mine.”

He calls the little ones, “Precious,”
because He has a plan for them.
And He brings it all to pass,
time and time again.

When You know the beginning and the end,
all things are in Your control.
God is the very Anchor,
on which we need to hold.

He’s the only One that will never fail,
with Hands and Arms stretched wide.
He’ll never leave or forsake us,
He’s always with us, beside our side.

It matters not, young or old,
love and peace conquer fear.
So look to Jesus, for who He Is,
and always seek to keep Him near.

Life is Precious & God is Good

This poem is dedicated to my nephew, Jeffrey, who is currently in the hospital.

I have to relate,
a true experience.
How life is real,
in every sense.

We sometimes forget,
God is in control.
There isn’t anything,
He doesn’t hold.

My nephew was figuratively,
the walking dead.
That’s the statement,
the doctors all said.

His medical numbers,
were off the chart.
But through it all,
God held his heart.

They could not believe,
he was still alive.
But from Patchogue to Riverhead*,
he did drive.

He was doing things,
which couldn’t be done.
Making decisions,
amazing everyone.

But we know the reason,
and the doctors had a part.
But Gods loving Hands,
held on to his heart.

Little by little,
his life was changing.
And God was causing,
the rearranging.

Without GOD in the picture,
you’d be expecting the worst.
But GOD was moving Jeffrey,
from last to first.

*The Village of Patchogue & the Town of Riverhead are both located on Long Island, New York, about an hour east of New York City.

All in the Family

A family is the pride and joy,
when all hearts work as one.
Striving for a life of harmony,
united with Christ the Son.

The family’s size matters not,
it matters that we do our part.
The thoughts and ideas we freely give,
from within a loving heart.

The Father has given a family to me,
He asked me to provide and care.
Two charming daughters and a loving wife,
who support me with a life of prayer.

So with a heart filled with love,
and desiring to do His pleasure.
Let us invest our all in Him,
that we might receive our eternal treasure.

Roots

Does your family tree,
trace back to God?
If it is so,
give me a nod.

Are you planted by the stream?
Do your roots run deep?
Are you grounded in the Word?
Does your joy make you weep?

God is the only source,
for all of life on earth.
He is with us every moment,
even from our birth.

Are there precious souls,
throughout your family tree,
who faithfully prayed,
for the day you came to be?

Do you have a godly heritage,
that helps to carry you?
Are you also praying,
as your ancestors used to do?

Do you pray for future generations,
that are yet to come?
To strengthen your family tree,
with another godly one?

Does your tree bear much fruit,
but not the kind you eat?
It is fruit that fills your heart with love,
and helps you overcome defeat.

The Holy Spirit gives us fruit to bear,
and by it we are known.
And as we walk along through life,
we never walk alone.

So search your family to and fro,
every member of your tree.
Thank the ones that prayed for you,
and God who brought you to be.

Keep your roots running deep,
strengthen and watered day by day.
Your tree will grow and bear much fruit,
in God, since there is no other way!
