By my grandson, Eric Greco.

It was an average day,
also somewhat fun.
Anticipation was everywhere,
as the World Trade Center was almost done.

People went to work,
kids went out to play.
But soon enough, in time,
there would be nothing to say.

Planes were flying undetected,
known location was none.
Eventually we all would know,
because people began to run.

A plane had hit the North Tower,
so now a plane was found.
But people knew it was no accident,
another plane was inbound.

BOOM!!! went the second plane,
both hit within the hour.
Fear was widely spread around,
it wasn’t just the towers.

An explosion at a government base,
a portion of it was gone.
The government went to DEFCON 3,
the plane had hit the Pentagon.

The South Tower was the second hit,
the North Tower was the first.
What happened next was unbelievable,
it was just the worst.

The South Tower had given way,
could not support the weight.
It collapsed and killed so many people,
they had no escape.

Next was the North to collapse that day,
could not deny it’s fate.
More people died and could not stop,
the group called Al-Qaeda’s hate.

One more plane was set to hit,
the location was unclear.
The plane never hit and here is why,
these people saved many tears.

The passengers knew what was going on,
react was what they would do.
Calling their families and saying good-bye,
these heroes saved me and you.

All of the heroes stormed the cockpit,
hijackers were revealed.
Many tried but could not control,
the plane crashed in a field.

So this I tell you, again and again,
don’t cry and do not let,
the sadness overtake your body,
please NEVER FORGET.
